Based on the US Census Vintage data estimates, in 2014, there were 1,831,546 people that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone in Illinois and they represented 14.21% of the total population of Illinois in 2014. Cook County had the highest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone population (1,245,098), followed by St. Clair County (79,998), and Will County (77,414). On the other hand, Calhoun County had the lowest number of Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone (12), followed by Scott County (16), and Jasper County (20).

When it comes to the percentage of each county's population that identified as Non-Hispanic Black or African American alone, Alexander County had the highest percentage (34.39%), followed by Pulaski County (31.68%), and St. Clair County (30.07%).
