Youth Unemployment Rate of African Countries in 1999

In 1999, South Africa had the highest total youth unemployment rate (52.52%), followed by Lesotho (49.55%), and then Eswatini (48.68%). Rwanda had the lowest total youth unemployment rate (0.97%) in Africa in 1999.

The World Bank defines youth unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force ages 15-24 without work but available for and seeking employment".
