Youth Unemployment Rate of African Countries in 1998

In 1998, Djibouti had the highest total youth unemployment rate (53.89%), followed by South Africa (51.38%), and then Lesotho (50.11%). Rwanda had the lowest total youth unemployment rate (0.91%) in Africa in 1998.

The World Bank defines youth unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force ages 15-24 without work but available for and seeking employment".
