Youth Unemployment Rate of African Countries in 2006

In 2006, Eswatini had the highest total youth unemployment rate (55.96%), followed by South Africa (54.41%), and then Libya (47.32%). Benin had the lowest total youth unemployment rate (1.3%) in Africa in 2006.

The World Bank defines youth unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force ages 15-24 without work but available for and seeking employment".
