Youth Unemployment Rate of African Countries in 2001

In 2001, South Africa had the highest total youth unemployment rate (55.41%), followed by Eswatini (50.83%), and then Lesotho (47.15%). Benin had the lowest total youth unemployment rate (0.9%) in Africa in 2001.

The World Bank defines youth unemployment rate as "the share of the labor force ages 15-24 without work but available for and seeking employment".
