United States Black or African American Alone Population By State in Census 2020

According to the data from the US 2020 decennial Census, there were 41,104,200 people who identified as Black or African American Alone, which was 12.40% of the total US population. This number is the population from the 50 states and the District of Columbia.

Texas had the highest number of Black or African American Alone population (3,552,997), followed by Georgia (3,320,513), and then Florida (3,246,381). On the other hand, the 3 states that had the least number of Black or African American Alone population include: Wyoming (5,232), Montana (5,484), and Vermont (9,034).
